The Drum Majors at the University of Illinois represent the tradition, pride, loyalty, and excelence of the Marching Illini.
They work together to provide leadership to the organization and present oustanding showmanship during performances.
Training to become a Drum Major begins in the fall and continues untill auditions in the spring. The audition spans
throughout an entire day consisting of an interview with the directors, an evaluation of conducting skills, marching skills,
teaching ability, and performance with a mace. The result of this long training period and tedious audition are the
inspired individuals you see Game Day during run-on proudly in front of the Nation's Premire College Marching band-
